What can you expect?

an innovative method for self-knowledge and growth in a group dynamic

We are so much more than the person we show today.

We are capable of so much more than what we dare to do today.

There is still a lot inside of us that wants to come out.

We just spend more energy and time protecting it than harnessing it and putting it into the world.

WHY DO WE INVEST SO MUCH IN PROTECTION?

We have taught ourselves all kinds of patterns and thoughts to protect ourselves. Most of the choices we make every day stem from that protective autopilot. Everything that this “auto-pilot” does not know is immediately removed. The way in which we make those rejections can differ from person to person. One pretends he/she doesn’t see it. The other has an internal voice that comes up with counter-arguments right away. Sometimes we just say YES for convenience, but we know inside that it’s a NO. And so on. This inner process often does not take place consciously, but in an automatic and unconscious way.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?

We cannot grow that way. There is no possibility for the new, to learn. We need it to grow, to develop. As soon as we stand still for too long, we become frustrated, sick, tired, apathetic, etc. Sometimes we seek kicks or anesthesia (e.g. alcohol, sex, food, games, drugs, etc) or attention (e.g. helping, caring before, arguing, etc.) to feel ‘alive’ again. This usually only works for a short period of time.

HOW CAN RECONSTRUCTIVE HELP WITH THIS?

During a Reconstructive workshop you will have the opportunity to test your protection mode. In a safe environment you can DISCOVER how to block yourself, EXPERIENCE new possibilities you never thought possible and INTEGRATE them by playing with them right away, trying different ways.
